Our Team

Timothy McCarthy II has represented those accused of crimes in Iowa for more than three decades. He is licensed to practice in all Iowa state and federal courts. McCarthy holds both a Bachelor of Arts degree and Juris Doctor from Drake University in Des Moines. He has taught both law students, at the Drake University Law School, and lawyers, as a speaker at various criminal defense seminars.

Aaron Hamrock has been licensed to practice law in Iowa since 1995. He represents both those facing criminal charges and those seeking compensation for personal injuries. He is licensed in all Iowa state and federal court. He received a Bachelor of Arts at Central College and went on to earn a Juris Doctor at Drake University Law School.

Gregory Landry has been a personal injury and medical malpractice attorney in Iowa for over 37 years. As an experience trial attorney, Mr. Landry has been certified as a civil trial attorney by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and board-certified as a diplomat by the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys.

Rob joined McCarthy & Hamrock in 2016 as a Law Clerk and later was brought on as an Associate Attorney in September of 2018. He is devoted to aggressively defending his clients’ rights when they face criminal charges. Rob understands the importance of keeping his clients apprised of every aspect of their case so that they can make an informed decision on how to move forward in their defense.

Justin joined McCarthy & Hamrock, P.C. in 2022 as a Law Clerk and then was brought on as an Associate Attorney in September of 2023. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Northern Iowa and a Juris Doctor from Drake University Law School. Justin's areas of practice include OWIs, Drug Offenses, Assaults, Thefts, Domestic Violence, and Weapons Offenses.

Amanda joined the firm in September of 2013. She grew up in Manly, Iowa. Amanda later attended the University of Northern Iowa where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Communications. Amanda is a highly valued and dedicated employee who takes pride in her work and also enjoys communicating with a number of the firm’s clients.

Brooke joined the firm in August of 2022.  She grew up in Des Moines, Iowa.  She has previous experience as a Judicial Specialist at the Polk County Clerk of Court’s Office, which makes her very knowledgeable with the court process.  Brooke is also known by clients for her warm smile and caring attitude as they walk into the firm. Brooke works closely with Mr. McCarthy and the clients he represents in the firm.

Karla joined the firm the firm in December of 2023. She grew up in Belmond, Iowa. She later attended Grand View University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. With her previous legal experience and bilingual skills, Karla makes a great asset to the team. As the Legal Assistant to both Mr. Larson and Mr. Landry, she works closely with criminal defense and civil case files and their clients in the firm.
